SPEECH BY AMBASSADOR ÇAĞLAR FAHRİ ÇAKIRALP ON THE OCCASİON OF THE OPENING CEREMONY OF THE BRANCH OFFICE OF ANATRICA GROUP
BÜYÜKELÇİ ÇAĞLAR FAHRİ ÇAKIRALP
17.06.2022
My dear South African colleague, Ambassador Masango,
Dear Mr. Geçer, Co-President of Türkiye-Tunisia Business Council,
Dear Mr. Salim and Mr. Dube,
Dear President of the Confederation of Citizen Enterprises of Tunisia (CONECT) Mr. Cherif,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
It’s a pleasure for me to be here among you today on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the Branch Office of ANATRICA Group in Tunis.
For us, this is not an ordinary opening ceremony.
In fact, this is an important Turkish investment that shows how much Türkiye counts on and believes in Tunisia.
This also reveals that Türkiye is always on the side of Tunisia even on difficult times.
With an investment of more than 700 million dollars, nearly 50 Turkish companies operate in Tunisia.
These companies provide employment to thousands of people, create added-value and contribute to the development of Tunisia’s economy.
In other word, the presence of Turkish companies in Tunisia is a clear demonstration of our commitment and availability to support Tunisia in its efforts to build a prosperous and resilient economy.
Turkey is determined not to leave Tunisia alone in face of the economic difficulties it is going through.
Opening of the Branch Office of ANATRICA Group in Tunisia is a clear example of this stance.
As you all know, ANATRICA Group is a trading and investment company, specialized in industrial minerals, agri-food products and chemicals, with offices in South Africa and Switzerland.
I’m truly glad that they have expanded their operations to Tunisia as well.
I would like to seize this opportunity to congratulate Mr. Kadir Mete Geçer, Co-chair of the Türkiye - Tunisia Business Council , and other members of the Group for their courageous and very intelligent decision to invest in Tunisia, because we sincerely believe that brotherly and historical relations between the two countries can only be consolidated by more investments and trade and that this partnership will benefit both Türkiye and Tunisia.
I’m also confident that other Turkish investments will follow this one.
In this context, I can assure our Tunisian friends that Turkish Embassy in Tunis will work hard in this direction, in order to increase Turkish investments in Tunisia.
I wish all the best and success to ANATRICA Group for their operations in Tunisia.
Thank you very much.
